Who is Eligible to Drive for BSU Transit?

All BSU Transit drivers are students!  Most student drivers had no prior experience driving buses or vans, and none is needed.  Our training program covers everything needed to become a successful operator!
  1. Must be an undergraduate student and be registered for at least (6) credits. 
  2. Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older. 
  3. Must hold a current and valid Massachusetts motor vehicle operator's license (or have the ability to transfer to a MA license), have held a motor vehicle operator's license for one year, and have a reputable driving record.
  4. Must be able to obtain a US Department of Transportation medical certificate, and pass pre-employment drug test (coordinated and paid for by BSU Transit).
  5. Our BSU Transit trainers will fully prepare and provide all necessary training needed to receive a Commercial Drivers License (CDL). All training and CDL license fees will be paid for, or reimbursed, by BSU.

WE PAY YOU TO TRAIN AND FOR FREE CDL! (a $8,000 value) We pay for students to train, for all licensing and fees, and for CPR/AED certification! Shortage of CDL drivers nationwide, license can be used anywhere as well as at BSU Transit.
All Hours are Flexible! We've set up a system that allow drivers to increase or decrease their hours to fit their academic schedule at the start of every semester. Operating from 7:00am to 11:00pm with flexible 2 hour shifts! Work shifts back to back or between classes, the choice is yours!
We Pay Well! The pay rate is THE HIGHEST on campus. New drivers start at $15.50/hr their first semester and receive increases at the start of each Academic Year.
Long Term Employment! You can work here for your entire college career.
Supplemental Employment Opportunities! You can use your license to drive for hire during breaks and/or after graduation at any transportation company.
Great Resume Builder! BSU Transit is student run and managed, with multiple student management positions available. The experiences gained here will carry on to your professional careers!
